About Me

Hey there! I’m Kendall- fitness enthusiast, dog mom, friend, daughter, corporate go-getter.

I am also a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and RRCA-Certified Run Coach. Additionally, I support a sporting club called Forever Athletes as the Dallas, TX City Lead.

I have been deeply connected to sports and fitness throughout my life. Growing up in North Dallas, I played competitive soccer and competed in cross country and track but ultimately left these team sports behind when I went off to get my BBA in Supply Chain Management at Texas A&M University.

While in school, I was pretty sedentary and struggled to figure out how to incorporate health & fitness into my life. Honestly, I was just struggling to figure out how to do life as an adult, period. I think this is a pretty relatable experience for most people in their early 20s. And it can feel extra uncomfortable if you came from a sports environment previously.

Ultimately, I rekindled my passion for structured fitness and found camaraderie in studio fitness classes. During my last semester of school, I decided to train for my first half marathon.

The longer story of why I signed up for my first half:

It’s funny, really. I mentioned I am a dog mom. Well, my Goldendoodle, Millie, was a puppy at this time. I was going to F45 six days per week. The studio was closed on Sundays, but Millie still woke up at 4AM on Sundays ready to roll- and I needed some me-time. So, one Sunday, after Millie got enough attention in the early hours to take a nap, I embarked on my first run in quite some time. I ran 4 miles at a surprisingly fast pace & felt incredible. I thought, “Hmmm. Maybe I’ll try 5 miles next week.” And then I did it. Then, I said, “Maybe I do 6 miles next week.” I did it. Then, I said, “7 next week.” And it was more taxing, but I did it. So I said, “I think I will train for a half marathon.” And I did it. And I was hooked.

After college, I started training for my first full marathon. The logic- “Well my longest run is already 14 miles. I might as well utilize this base fitness and go for the full thing.” I have good ideas, here and there.

I am now a 2X half-marathoner & 4X full marathoner, including the 2024 Boston Marathon. Since my first half marathon, I have improved my time by 7+ minutes from 1:35 to 1:28. And I have improved my full marathon time by 32 minutes from 3:36 to 3:04. My current 2025 goal is to tackle speed. I will be racing some 5Ks, 10Ks, and potentially another 13.1. I have invested in a personal run coach and attribute much of my success to her.

I love training for a race. I love getting faster, but I also love getting stronger. Resistance strength training holds an important place in my schedule for a number of reasons- improving performance and preventing injury, to start. But I can’t complain about the aesthetic contribution of lean muscle mass, either. 🙂 I’ve been programming my own strength training for the past couple years but decided to get formally certified because (1) I am a nerd and wanted to learn & (2) so I can help others.
